King Koopa is the evil king of the Koopas, having various loyal henchmen from the lowly goomba to the explosive bomb-omb. This ruthless king is always after the Princess of Mushroom Kingdom, but is often foiled by that brave duo, The Super Mario Bros.

There have been debates between the Koopa fan boys (which contrary to popular belief exist) over which King of the Koopas is more bad ass. The fan base is split basically down the middle. The bowserists think the new King is incredibly more sinister looking then his old counter part. Some oldschoolists give a screen shot from an old episode of
The Super Mario Bros. Super Show, which reveals King Koopa as a pirate and holding Princess Peach in a cage. They say, "If a pirate Koopa King isn't bad ass, then what is?".
