In the path sense, when adding fractions, it's the lowest denominator that all of the fractions contain.

In the literary sense, it refers to some form of media being some sophomoric and targeted for the uneducated masses.  Why it's used for this, I have no idea, I don't see the transition.  I think it should be changed to being the [[Lest Common Multilple]].
