A college classmate of mine chose to begin a clinic in Uganda. After graduating college with a nursing degree, she wanted to put her degree to good use. During her senior year she began saving money and buying supplies to make her dreams become a reality after graduation. She moved to Uganda and opened a very successful, non-profit clinic. It wasn't easy at first though. While she was preparing to move, she also had to find the right supplies and equipment for her organization. While finding basic equipment was relatively easy, more complicated machinery and software proved to be a challenge. Possibly the most significant challenge was finding a reliable electronic medical record software. She wanted to make certain she had all the medical records on everyone who entered the clinic. She wanted copies of electronic medical records so she would always have information such as allergic reactions or previous surgical treatments on hand. This may seem over zealous but by having dependable records, she could give individuals within the town the very best care possible. Finding a trustworthy electronic medical record system proved to be difficult though. After many days spent on the Internet, she finally found one that was perfect. Not only did it offer a place to save each and every electronic medical record, it also offered a CPT lookup. While this may not seem like something monumental, it was great for my friend because she could look up each affliction in the CPT codes lookup and record everything properly and quickly. This would help her see more patients in a day as well as make book keeping a little easier. By having a CPT coding lookup as well as a hassle-free electronic medical record system, she knew she was going to have an effective and helpful clinic! She was beside herself. Later on she bought other various materials that she could use in her clinic. Luckily, when she began her blog, she was given lots of contributions. There was even enough to buy more complex equipment so her clinic could identify other afflictions that may go unchecked in Uganda. It is fantastic to see on her blog that a building company has actually already started building the site for her dream clinic. There is certainly a great deal of work that will go into developing a successful clinic but it is well worth it. After that, she was able to focus on packing her very own luggage and say good-bye to everybody prior to moving to Uganda. While she was extremely stressed initially, I reassured her that she would have a successful clinic and all her effort is going to pay off in the end. The people of Uganda appreciate and excited to be treated properly with appropriate medical attention. At her going away party, all the guests gave donations. By continuing to blog as well as update her site, she was able to receive even more donations and gather even more appeal for her organization. Ideally, she can continue working at the clinic for many years and it may stay as helpful and successful as it is today. medical diagnostic imaging
