I'm 40-anything years old, and for 40-some thing years breakfast has been a discomfort. Some of my earliest memories are obtaining ready for school with my mother insisting I consume a bowl of cereal. It just never interested me. Once high school began I was skipping breakfast and grabbing two apples on the run for lunch. All my life breakfast merely wasn't something I got interested in or believed about until I created this discovery...

Somebody introduced me to the most wonderful notion for breakfast. By now I was properly entrenched in not taking time over the initial meal of the day (and often the second meal), so anything that captured my focus was going to have to be rapidly, no fuss and delicious to warrant any of my consideration.

Rather of cardboard cereal and bland milk, it is achievable to begin the day with energy packed, nutritious, energizing and very best of all, yummy smoothies. Smoothies have been about for ages, but I had by no means twigged they make a wonderful start to the day. Picture the delight of choosing from a variety such as Chocolate Strawberry, Hazelnut Coffee, Peach Almond, Banana Bread & Apple Pie Surprise. Kid you not! You can make an endless assortment to suit your own taste. Now this was exciting to me.

Not only did I commence regularly eating breakfast, my energy shot by means of the roof! This changed my whole point of view on being 40-some thing. A period where I believed as a mother, wife, and corporate executive I was supposed to be tired all the time. Not true.

Here is one particular of my favourite recipes.

Strawberry Parfait

three tablespoons vanilla flavored soy/whey protein powder

250g (6oz) strawberry flavoured fat free of charge yoghurt

1 cup strawberries

4 ice cubes
